TJ Ritchie Goes Solo: Charlotte’s Radio Maverick Returns

WBT Taps Ritchie for Prime-Time Conserva-Chatter

After nearly three decades of sharing the mic, TJ Ritchie is going full throttle—solo.

The longtime Charlotte radio personality, best known as half of the former “Ace & TJ Show,” is returning to the airwaves with his own nightly program on WBT, debuting May 27. The show, simply titled “The TJ Ritchie Show,” promises what Ritchie calls “high energy, fun, and humorous” takes on the intersection of politics and pop culture.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do,” Ritchie said in a press release. “And getting to do it on the legendary WBT is such a thrill.”

The new show will air from 7 to 9 p.m. weeknights on 1110 AM and 99.3 FM, inviting listeners to call in and sound off—on everything from local headlines to celebrity slip-ups. If you’ve ever wanted to yell about Congress and Taylor Swift in the same segment, this might be your moment.

It’s a notable step for Ritchie, who co-hosted “The Ace & TJ Show” with the late David “Ace” Cannon. After Cannon’s unexpected departure in September 2024 and tragic passing in February, Ritchie continued the show alongside Bryan “Riggins” Weber before eventually striking out on his own.

Though the new show leans conservative—Ritchie brands himself “America’s Coolest Conservative”—he insists the format will welcome lively banter. Expect guests, hot takes, and plenty of Charlotte flair.

And in classic TJ style, he’s still holding down his “day job”—because one radio empire apparently isn’t enough.
