Charlotte FC has steadily grown its reputation since debuting in 2022. While the team boasted one of the league’s best defenses in 2024, allowing only 37 goals in 34 matches, their offense struggled, scoring just 45 goals. The addition of Zaha aims to address this imbalance.
Head coach Dean Smith, who took the helm last season, emphasized the importance of Zaha’s creativity and versatility. “We’ve built a solid foundation defensively,” Smith said. “Now it’s about unlocking that next level, and Wilfried has the skillset to help us do just that.”
