TJ Ritchie Goes Solo: Charlotte’s Radio Maverick Returns

WBT Taps Ritchie for Prime-Time Conserva-Chatter

After nearly three decades of sharing the mic, TJ Ritchie is going full throttle—solo.

The longtime Charlotte radio personality, best known as half of the former ā€œAce & TJ Show,ā€ is returning to the airwaves with his own nightly program on WBT, debuting May 27. The show, simply titled ā€œThe TJ Ritchie Show,ā€ promises what Ritchie calls ā€œhigh energy, fun, and humorousā€ takes on the intersection of politics and pop culture.

ā€œThis is something I’ve always wanted to do,ā€ Ritchie said in a press release. ā€œAnd getting to do it on the legendary WBT is such a thrill.ā€

The new show will air from 7 to 9 p.m. weeknights on 1110 AM and 99.3 FM, inviting listeners to call in and sound off—on everything from local headlines to celebrity slip-ups. If you’ve ever wanted to yell about Congress and Taylor Swift in the same segment, this might be your moment.

It’s a notable step for Ritchie, who co-hosted ā€œThe Ace & TJ Showā€ with the late David ā€œAceā€ Cannon. After Cannon’s unexpected departure in September 2024 and tragic passing in February, Ritchie continued the show alongside Bryan ā€œRigginsā€ Weber before eventually striking out on his own.

Though the new show leans conservative—Ritchie brands himself ā€œAmerica’s Coolest Conservativeā€ā€”he insists the format will welcome lively banter. Expect guests, hot takes, and plenty of Charlotte flair.

And in classic TJ style, he’s still holding down his ā€œday jobā€ā€”because one radio empire apparently isn’t enough.
