Ballantyne’s Leasing Boom: What It Means for Charlotte’s Business Scene

Ballantyne is back in business. Literally. Northwood Office closed 16 new, expanded, and renewed leases in Q4 2024, totaling nearly 220,000 square feet across its Ballantyne portfolio. This impressive final quarter pushed annual leasing totals to 723,000 square feet, surpassing pre-pandemic levels and underscoring the area’s growing appeal as a business hub.

"We’re seeing companies gain conviction around their office footprints," said Mary McClure, associate director of leasing for Northwood Office. "Ballantyne’s amenities and campus-wide programming continue to differentiate it as a workplace destination."

The quarter included notable newcomers like BHS Corrugated, leasing over 25,000 square feet at Rushmore Five, and Point 41, which took up 1,800 square feet at the Harris Building. Major renewals included RXO, securing 150,000 square feet at the Woodward Building.
