The November issue of Stroll Ballantyne Country Club is out, and the whole edition is online and free to read.

The cover belongs to a family whose birthday parties come with a twist. This month's Meet Your Neighbors introduces Katie and Jason Weeks and their children, Ian, 12, and Hanna, 10, who moved to Charlotte in 2020. Their tradition is called Birthday Give Backs: instead of focusing on presents, the kids ask their party guests to help support a local organization. The list of what those parties have collected is longer than you would guess.

A few of the other stories worth turning to first.

Precious Pets introduces Jack, an 8-year-old shih tzu whose full name, Jack-o'-lantern, tells you the night he was adopted. Making a Difference goes to Crisis Assistance Ministry, and a sidebar on that page carries news: CEO Carol Hardison will retire soon after 26 years, and the search for her successor is being led by a neighbor you will recognize from the cover. And Club News looks back at September's Kisner Classic, which Club News says had lots of laughs and a few questionable shots.

Three dates worth putting in the calendar now. The Stroll Holiday Party is this Thursday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Zinicola in Ballantyne Village, and you can RSVP here. Light The Night, the blood cancer walk, is Saturday, Nov. 14. And the monthly meetup for neighborhood business owners is Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the AC Ballantyne hotel lobby bar.

The PDF carries the whole issue. Not everything in it runs as its own story on the site, including the Travel Insider, Everyday Law, the Resident Recipe and the resident business guide. Partner spotlights on Dermani MedSpa, Dilworth Mattress Factory, Prestige Concierge Management and Social Pet Hotel and Daycare are coming to the site later this month.

And as always, the issue runs on our neighborhood partners. The businesses in the directory are the reason this magazine reaches your door. When you need a contractor, a realtor, a spa, or somewhere to board the dog, start there, and thank them when you get the chance.
