The September issue of Stroll Ballantyne Country Club is on its way to mailboxes this week, and you do not have to wait for the mail truck. The whole edition is online and free to read right now.
The cover belongs to a family who have decided not to wait for much of anything. This month's Meet Your Neighbors introduces Nicole McAlister, Zachary Sazama and their three-and-a-half-year-old son Rowan, who live on Lederer Avenue with a Vizsla and a Rhodesian Ridgeback and run the household on a single rule: plan for tomorrow, but do not postpone living today. This fall that rule has them training to climb the height of Everest, which is notable mainly because, in their own words, they are not hikers. At all.
A few of the other stories worth turning to first.
Precious Pets this month comes with its own byline. Brigid Daley, 11, introduces Cinnamon and Pearl, the guinea pig sisters her family took in from another Charlotte family who could no longer keep them. Club News carries the 2026 club championship winners and Rick Kingston's second career hole in one, on the third. And Around the Neighborhood tells the story of Pita and Omar del Toro, who took the Oath of Allegiance at the Charlotte Museum of History on the Fourth of July last year, chosen from just 20 candidates for the ceremony.
Two dates worth putting in the calendar now. Perspire Sauna Studio opens its doors to Ballantyne Country Club residents on Tuesday, September 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. And Bloody Marys on Five, the Meck South Rotary Club tournament that has raised more than $500,000 for the community since 2014, returns to Piper Glen on September 28 for its twelfth year.
