Chris and Kathy Cope came to medical aesthetics from real estate and pharmaceuticals, and Kathy has taught Pilates for 21 years. The dermani MEDSPA they opened on Lancaster Highway in Ballantyne offers cosmetic injectables such as Botox and Juvéderm, laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

Chris spent four years as a financial consultant before moving into residential real estate, and he was with Allen Tate Company from 2007 through 2023. The couple moved to Charlotte in January 2007, and his years in real estate gave him a close view of Ballantyne's growth, which made it a natural choice for their next business. Kathy worked in the wine and spirits industry and spent six years as a pharmaceutical representative before becoming a certified Pilates instructor. She also worked on and off in skincare, long a personal passion.
Their sons, Collin and Brendan, are both students, and the family includes Henry, their 8-year-old red Australian Labradoodle, known as "Kathy's boyfriend."
